Role: Assistant Children and Families Minister
Background: Bachelor of Arts (psychology and linguistics majors); Diploma of Creative Arts (Visual Arts); Diploma of Education (Primary).
Family: I’m married to Tim and we have three children.
Passionate about: I’m passionate about giving children a sense of their own place in our faith community, so that they are coming to church because they are keen to learn and grow and connect with other generations (and not just because they are brought by their parents). I’m also passionate about exploring together ways that we can relate to God our Creator through our own creativity.
Hobbies: I love reading, netball, many different kinds of art and craft including (but not limited to!) textile art, painting, printmaking, sewing, crochet.
I’ve been blessed with knowing Jesus as my Lord and Saviour for as long as I can remember. I grew up knowing His love for me and knowing that I was made to serve Him. I was encouraged along the way by many faithful Christian Sunday School teachers, youth leaders, small group leaders, ministers, friends and family. St Alfred’s has been my spiritual home my whole adult life. As a young adult I explored serving through various ministries, but I found the ones that gave me most joy were when I was interacting with children and having an impact on their spiritual growth. I enjoy primary teaching, but working in children and families ministry at St Alfred’s has been like coming home. It’s a great privilege to be able to work in children’s ministry and partner with families in the faith development of our youngest community members.
