Going Bananas 2024

 This year we will be looking at stories from the biography of Jesus by the apostle Mark through an Olympic lens.

Going Bananas is a week-long program for primary school aged children.
The dates this year are: Monday 8th - Friday 12th of July.
The days run from 9:30am - 12:15pm at St Alfred’s Blackburn North.
Going Bananas Sunday will be 10am on the 14th of July.

If you would like to register a child for the program, registrations will open on the 1st of June.

We all know what happened in 2020. It was an extremely unusual year for everyone in Melbourne as pretty much everything shut down. Going Bananas was no exception.

This marked the first time since 1998 that St Alfred’s hadn’t hosted children for its annual a school holiday program. So if we couldn’t get people through the door, why not zoom into their lounge rooms via the internet? So GB@home was born.

The Going Bananas team published nearly five hours of material for children and their families for each day of the scheduled GB week. Heaps of people tuned in. So we decided to leave it on the website in case anyone got bored during subsequent school holidays.
